Renowned artist Doncho Donchev brings his visionary work Fundamental Interactions to life in an immersive, week-long event celebrating creativity and cosmic connection.
Doncho Donchev, born in 1974 in Gabrovo, Bulgaria, is a multifaceted artist known for his dynamic and expressive works that span painting, illustration, sculpture, and live performance. He studied at the National High School of Applied Arts in Tryavna and earned a Master’s degree in Painting from the University of Veliko Tarnovo, later specializing in animation at Nu Boyana Film Studios.
Donchev’s art is characterized by its thematic depth and stylistic diversity. He often paints live in front of audiences, merging visual art with music and performance. His projects have explored scientific concepts—such as Particle Metamorphoses and Timeline of the Universe, both presented at CERN—as well as philosophical and mythological themes, notably in his Logos-Mythos series.
He has exhibited widely across Europe, including in Zurich, Vienna, Milan, Istanbul, and Sofia. His satirical collection 21st Century, featuring world leaders as playing cards, drew significant public attention. Donchev also participated in EXPO Milano 2015 and EXPO Astana 2017, where his monumental piece Human Energy became part of the World EXPO Museum in Shanghai.
Since 2015, he has been active in Switzerland, particularly in Locarno, collaborating with curator Arminio Sciolli and contributing to cultural events at Rivellino. In 2019, he honored Leonardo da Vinci’s legacy by recreating *Salvator Mundi* in a live performance.
